The CIB will be responding to the public health requirements of the Coronavirus pandemic by holding its meetings online in the Fall 2020 semester. The decision was taken by the CIB’s Executive Team in early August, in light of the threat that the pandemic poses to the health of students and faculty at Coastal Carolina University. For this reason, the CIB Executive Team invites the organization’s membership to meet every Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00pm on the Zoom software platform. The link and access information for meetings will be sent ahead of time via email.
Meetings will include the full spectrum of CIB activities that members are used to seeing in previous semesters, including relevant announcements, desk briefings and updates, and of course the extremely popular news quiz. To be notified of the Zoom meetings and receive the log-in information, please email cib@coastal.edu. Alternatively, keep an eye out for the emails that will be sent to the student body.
As a reminder, students who wish to rise to Senior Analyst status and enroll in “Applied Intelligence Analysis” (the official CIB class) are expected to have been members in good standing of the CIB for at least one regular semester prior to taking the course. “Good standing” includes participation in 50% of all weekly CIB club meetings during the regular semester prior to taking the course. Therefore, a student who intends to sign up for the CIB class in the spring of 2021 must attend at least 50% of the Wednesday evening club meetings this semester. We hope to see you every Wednesday on Zoom!
