CIB’s second membership meeting of the semester features news quiz

Membership meetingHave you been paying attention to world events in the past week? That was the question asked of CIB members by the organization’s Executive Director, Blake Gutberlet, at the beginning of the group’s second membership meeting of the semester. Over two dozen students gathered in room 322 of the Wall Building on Coastal Carolina University’s campus on Wednesday, January 27, to talk about the past week’s news and receive an organizational update from CIB officers.

The first order of business, however, was a news quiz, during which students separated in groups and answered questions about recent news reports –without access to computers or cell phones. Questions asked during the quiz included: “what is the capital city of Moldova?” (hint: it rhymes with ‘now’) and “which African country suffered suicide bombings in the last 24 hours?”. Two groups tied in first place, having answered seven out of ten questions correctly.

CIB will meet every Wednesday of this semester in Wall 322 and invites the entire CCU student community to attend. The usual meeting time is 2:00 p.m., but there will be a number of meetings taking place at 3:00 p.m., in order to accommodate those who have class at 2:00. We hope to see everyone next week.
