CIB Applied Intelligence Project briefs senior Canadian diplomat

On Wednesday, April 20, 2022, the CIB’s Applied Intelligence Project hosted Mr. Kirk DuGood, Political Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission at the Canadian Consulate General in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. DuGOOD has served Global Affairs Canada for 15 years, during which time he has served abroad at Canada’s embassy in Caracas, Venezuela, as well as in Algeria and Argentina, before joining the Consul General office in Atlanta.

All six of the CIB’s Critical Mission Center were present in full force in Coastal Carolina University’s state-of-the-art Intelligence Operations Command Center (IOCC) on Wednesday, when Mr. DuGood visited the facility. He was subsequently briefed on the most recent developments in the Russo-Ukrainian conflict, with particular focus on Canada and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, of which Canada is a founding member. The hour-long briefing session included questions by Mr. DuGood.

The visit by Mr. DuGood was coordinated by the Canadian Consul General office in Atlanta and the Center for Global Engagement at CCU. The CIB is grateful to Dr. Darla Domke-Damonte, Associate Provost for Global Initiatives at CCU, and Ms. Ashante Infantry, Foreign Policy and Diplomacy Service Officer at the Consulate General of Canada in Atlanta, for coordinating this event.
