Analysts in the Chanticleer Intelligence Brief’s Applied Intelligence Project briefed Major General Mark R. Quantock (ret.), an experienced intelligence leader, who currently serves as Executive Vice President at Babel Street, a leading provider of advanced multilingual search and analytics software solutions.
General Quantock (pictured) was briefed on December 1 by the Directors of the CIB’s four Critical Mission Centers, who presented their findings alongside their respective Support Officers. They provided General Quantock with current information on a host of ongoing developments, which touch on critical concerns for US national security. As always, the precise topics discussed during the briefing session remain sensitive, as per the Applied Intelligence Project’s information distribution rules..
General Quantock retired from the US Army in 2017, after 37 years as a soldier and intelligence professional. Among other positions, he served as Director of Intelligence/J2 for USCENTCOM; Director of Intelligence/J2 for Resolute Support (Afghanistan); and Director of Operations for the National Geospatial Agency (NGA). Commenting on his experience of being briefed by the CIB’s student analysts, General Quantock said: “I was very impressed by the Intelligence and Security Studies program that Coastal Carolina University offers and with the intellect and professionalism that the CIB student analysts demonstrated. It was absolutely top notch. I look forward to continuing to support the program going forward! Well done!”
General Quantock’s visit wrapped up the CIB’s Applied Intelligence Project’s activities for the fall 2022 semester. In the upcoming spring 2023 semester, the Project will be working on an unclassified research topic, in cooperation with the National Security Agency, with which the Intelligence and Security Studies program at CCU has an Educational Partnership Agreement.
