CIB signs up new members in fall 2017 club recruitment day

CIB recruitmentDozens of students defied the hot weather and came out to sign up with the Chanticleer Intelligence Brief on Wednesday, August 23, during CCU’s semi-annual Organization Kickoff Day. The CIB was one of many student clubs and organizations represented at the event, which took place on Prince Lawn, on Coastal’s beautiful Conway campus. Members of our dedicated Executive Team were on location from early in the morning until 3:00 p.m., to answer students’ questions and showcase the CIB’s achievements from the past years.

In previous years, the CIB’s recruitment effort centered on ‘spiels’ designed to draw students in. This time, spiels were not needed. Students were seeking the CIB out and were literally queuing up to add their name on the CIB sign-up list. Interestingly, many of the students who signed up on Wednesday are not Intelligence majors or minors. They told us that they are simply interested in the subject, and pay attention to world news, which is precisely what the CIB focuses on. Our hardworking CIB recruiters handed out recruitment material and showed students copies of The Intelligence Review, a peer-reviewed publication of the European Intelligence Academy, which features unique intelligence-related content by CIB analysts.

The CIB tent was located next to the CCU National Security Club, as well as the table showcasing the work of Women in Intelligence and National Security, the newest addition to the student clubs in the Intelligence and National Security Studies program. We want to thank everyone who stopped by the CIB booth to show their support for the club, and we hope to see you all this coming Wednesday, August 30, at 6:00 p.m. at Coastal Science Center room 300, for our first general membership meeting of the year.
