Two members of CIB were among four Coastal Carolina University students who presented papers at the “9/11 and the Academy” conference. The conference, held at Emory & Henry College in Virginia, was the first academic gathering of its kind, which examined the impact of 9/11 on a variety of academic subjects and disciplines. Two CIB members were among a five-strong CCU delegation, which included CIB advisor Dr. Joseph Fitsanakis, who also delivered a paper at the conference.
The two CIB students were Emily Clingenpeel and Devan Miller. Clingenpeel presented a paper titled “Shift of Focus: US Intelligence Emphasis on Russia after 9/11”. Devan Miller‘s paper was on “US Military Involvement in the Syrian Civil War: The Case of Division 30”.
